Located in the 14th-century North Tower, the oldest part of the Eremo della Giubiliana, built by the Teutonic Knights of Grand Master Hermann Von Salza and named in honour of the owner and founder of the Eremo della Giubiliana Jolanda Vincenza Nifosì, the main floor of the tower has two rooms characterised by cross vaults and 15th-century floors inlaid with pitchstone and soft limestone.
In this spectacular position, the tower dominates the fortified masseria and provides a 360° view of the Hyblean Plateau and the south-eastern coastline. Distinct and spacious, the living room serves as a preamble to this elegant residence; here a photo frame with some period photographs traces the genealogy of this noble family of the Ragusa aristocracy.
The bright bedroom faces three different sides. The floor, made entirely of pitchstone, and the antique furnishings enhance this suite.
All the furnishings, chests of drawers and fratino desks are 17th-century Sicilian, from the family inheritance. Through a chestnut staircase and a skylight, it is possible to access the crenellated terrace of the Tower from which there is an extraordinary view of the plateau and the coast with the islands of Malta in the background. (not recommended for people with walking difficulties). Dedicated to Donna Vincenza Jolanda Nifosì di Canalazzi, landowner of the Eremo della Giubiliana.
